Squires Loft's tagline 'the steak specialist' pretty much spoke for what and who they were.
It was nothing posh at Squires Loft. It looked and felt ordinary, in fact it was your average everyday restaurant with the exception of the excellent steak offer giving you bang for your bucks.
It was busy as usual at Squires Loft, yet their service was to be admired; speedy, efficient, and staff were very friendly and laid-back.
It had been a while since I dined at Squires Loft before this visit that I forgot how beautiful their non-steak dishes were. Presented on a bed of salad was succulent chicken kebab entree; ample in portion, certainly enough for the two who were about to have steak as their mains. The steaks that night were eye fillet (200gr at $32.50) and angus eye fillet (the most expensive at 300gr but even then it only cost $55). Both were deliciously juicy and tender, with more fat on the angus eye fillet. Sauces and sides are at extra costs but they came in very generous portion that you could share one side and one sauce for two. But not us of course, since our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Still felt like stuffing our eyes with food, we ordered sticky date pudding for dessert that turned out to be just as impressive. Have the steak with a glass of their Yalumba Signature, and your steak experience would be whole.
Maybe it was not your average restaurant at all after all.
